Hi Friends,I have not posted since Orissa. I am now in Mumbai with one week of the official Fulbright program to go.Everything seems so insignificant now since Erin told me what happened back home. For those of you who don't know my dear friend Rachael recently lost a child and I think that is all I need to say. I have been feeling very sad and distracted by this and mostly such sympathy for all who are dealing with this unforeseen tragedy.More later.

Hi Mary, we have been thinking of you constantly and hoping this last part of your trip is good. Rach and Brien are strong and I know will be glad to see you when you return. They have been surrounded by friends and family. They know you are praying for them.
Did you ever get to talk to the journalist who wrote that article? I have missed your messages. You must be incredibly busy. What stories you will have to share with us when you return! We need rain here in Virginia!! How hot has it been there? Hang in there and make the most of this last part of your trip. We love you and are lifting you in prayer many times during the day-- Namaste and Peace, Cathy
Hey there,
We are simply heartsick for your friends. The grief is palpable, even for strangers. I wish them some relief, some peace.
Its hard to beleive you are winding down there. I'm sure home is looking good to you right now. It wont be long! I hope your remaining time is relaxing, restful and a little less scheduled.
Everyone is doing well here, though I know of 3 girls who will be thrilled to welcome you home as we all will be. We are so very proud of you.
Enjoy the final stretch!!
Love,
Stephen

Missing you and can hardly wait for your return. As Cathy said Rachael and Brien are strong. They are surrounded with a strong outpouring of love and support from family and friends and doing an amazing job of working through their loss. Please enjoy your
remaining time in India. Thinking and
praying for you daily.

Hi Mary,
I just want to let you know that I'm thinking about you. I travelled all the time in my thoughts with you. When you are in Rishikesh you can get offerings at the Ganges which you can let float in the Ganges river with prayers for your friends. It is a highly spiritually charged place and you will find some peace there.
I'm looking forward to see you. Have a safe trip!
Love,
Beate
Oh, Mary. I knew you would want to know, but I didn't want you to worry, as I knew you would. B and I are SO looking forward to seeing you when you return and can't wait to hear all your stories. We are doing fairly well and as both Cathy and Kathy said, are surrounded by loved ones with VERY strong shoulders.
Please enjoy what little time you have left and come home with TONS of fun and delightful stories to share. :o)
Love and HUGS!
Rach :o)
Hello My Friend,
You would be so proud of the Marshall Family. We have tried to help out as best we can for Rachael, Brien and Lilly, but there are just no words for their crushing loss. They are just a remarkable family.
Capture everything you can in your remaining days and know that we want you to travel safely home.
Lots of Hugs to You,
Edie
Hi Mary,
It's Nick. I'm so sorry to hear about your friends' loss. They and you are in my prayers.
How are you doing otherwise? Are you exhausted/invigorated? Homesick/struck with wanderlust? I am really excited to know that you will be home soon. Stay safe, and enjoy your days of rest, meditation and yoga that you will enjoy before returning.
I haven't been to Newport News yet, but will try to make it down this Thursday - hopefully in time for the Peninsula Fine Arts museum's wine/jazz(??) event they have on Thursday nights.
Miss you so much!
Love,
Nick
Hi Mary
Blake and I read Rikki Tikki Tavi this week. He was enchanted with the story. Now he is curious to know if you have seen a cobra or mongoose while in India.
Hope you are having a great time.
Kathy
Hi Mary - sorry I haven't written until now. Larry and I returned from our Maine-New Hampshire-Vermont trip on July 19, but no sooner were we in the door that I received the phone call about Hanna. Since then it seems like its a whirlwind and I sometimes wonder where the brake is to slow down and/or to stop. We caught up on your blog and each time I read your entries I'm just so amazed at your experiences. I hope you had a chance to talk to the reporter and rest assured, we know that you would not say what was written. Please enjoy the remainder of your trip; looking forward to talking to you soon. Let us know if there is anything we can do here. Take care of yourself; keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Love and peace,
Joy
Mary,
I hope you are learning from and helping the children in India. I know it is very hard to be far away when tragedy has happened to one of your Marshall friends. Just think how excited Hannah would be to meet all the children in India! Know that the Marshall family is watching over the Davis family. Can't wait until you come home. Erin would like a visit!
Waiting your return,
Greathouse Family
